Description
The centerpiece of your McIntosh home theater
Moving from an all-in-one receiver to a preamp/processor like the McIntosh MX200, plus a separate power amplifier, is one of the best ways to elevate your home theater. Separating the amplification from the processor minimizes noise and interference, giving you crystal-clear audio and video performance . This pre/pro is instantly recognizable as a McIntosh, thanks to its black glass front panel, chunky metal knobs, and illuminated logo.
Well-connected for high performance
The MX200 features versatile audio inputs, including a balanced line input for a compatible hi-fi component, a dedicated turntable input, and optical and coax digital inputs for digital sources. And with four HDMI 2.1 inputs and an eARC port, it lets you watch the highest-resolution content available from streaming boxes, Blu-ray players, and game systems. Its 11.2-channel preamp output features XLR balanced connections for all full-range channels, making it a perfect match for the McIntosh MI347 home theater amplifier.
Immersive surround sound
With additional amplifiers, you can run up to 11 channels in a 7.2.4 or 9.2.2 system for even more involving 3D Dolby Atmos or DTS:X surround sound. The MX200’s 11-channel processing lets you run an ultra-immersive system with up to four upward-firing or in-ceiling speakers for overhead effects. With its seven premium 32-bit DACs, this pre/pro accurately reproduces every aspect of a movie’s soundtrack with precision.
Tailored to your room
Dirac Live® is one of the finest room correction systems in the industry, and it comes standard on the MX200. Use the included microphone and run the Dirac software on your laptop to take precise sound measurements in your room. After the software completes the test, it then creates a personalized EQ correction curve for all your speakers, made to overcome your room’s specific acoustic challenges. By using Dirac, you’ll let your speakers achieve their full sonic potential and bring your surround sound to exciting new heights.
