Dolby Atmos “reflective / height-channel” speaker design — As part of JBL’s Stage series, these speakers are built to reflect sound upwards or provide height-channel effects for Atmos/DTS:X-enabled home-theatre setups. That enables a more immersive, three-dimensional soundstage when paired with a suitable AV receiver and main speakers.

2-Way driver configuration — The 240H uses a woofer + tweeter arrangement to cover mids and highs clearly. This helps in delivering crisp dialogues, surround effects and upper-frequency detail when used as height / Atmos channels.

Pair configuration — ready for Atmos height setup (Left + Right) — Sold as a matched pair, so you can install them as left and right height speakers right away without worrying about matching.

Compact bookshelf / bookshelf-speaker size and form factor — Easier to place than large floorstanders; good for apartments or living rooms where space is limited. Reflective Atmos speakers like 240H don’t need to be mounted high on walls or ceilings, giving flexibility in placement.

Passive speaker design — flexible amplifier / AV receiver pairing — As with most speakers in the Stage line, these are passive: you can pair them with your existing AV receiver or amplifier, giving flexibility depending on your budget or system configuration.

JBL Stage 240H Overview

The JBL Stage 240H 2-Way Dolby Atmos Surround Sound Speakers in espresso finish are the height-channel option for the JBL Stage Series speakers and are well-suited for use as Dolby Atmos or rear surround speakers. The 240H is comprised of JBL’s 4.5″ Polycellulose ribbed cone woofer to handle the bass and midrange, with a 1″ anodized aluminum tweeter coupled to the Stage 2 HDI horn for the high frequencies.

The Stage 240H features sturdy 5-way binding posts to connect to your amplifier or receiver. For placement on speaker tops and other flat surfaces, anti-slip pads are provided to secure the speaker and reduce vibration. Alternatively, the 240H speakers include a key-hole slot and 1/4″-20 threaded insert for wall mounting.

1″ Anodized Aluminum Tweeter in HDI Waveguide

Through intense research of previous waveguide designs, JBL has developed a new complex geometry that improves directivity and reduces diffraction. In the Stage 240H speaker, the Stage 2 HDI Horn is coupled to a 1″ anodized aluminum dome tweeter. This design offers a neutral frequency response both on and off axis.
