Delivering crisp dialogue and clean, natural sound to your home theater, the Reference R-50C 2-Way Center Channel Speaker from Klipsch features a 90 x 90° Tractrix Horn, which has large horn dimensions for directivity control, resulting in improved high-end and a more accurate soundstage. The Tractrix Horn is mated to a 1″ aluminum LTS tweeter with Kapton suspension, and the speaker is rounded out with a pair of 5.25″ spun-copper TCP woofers, all of which are packed within a solid 3/4″ reinforced MDF cabinet with hidden fasteners and a magnetic grille, completing the R-50C’s sleek and modern look.

LTS Aluminum Tweeter with Kapton Suspension

Using a linear travel suspension (LTS), the 1″ tweeter’s highs are transmitted with minimal distortion for increased detail. The aluminum construction is lightweight, yet rigid, to further improve that audio detail and deliver improved sonic resolution.

Dual TCP Woofers
Borrowing technology from Klipsch’s Reference Premiere line, the R-50C offers spun-copper thermoformed crystalline polymer (TCP) for both 5.25″ woofers. This aligns the cones at a steeper angle for better accuracy and transparency, along with a smoother response. This is in addition to ribbing being added for better rigidity that ultimately results in less cone breakup at higher frequencies.

Solid and Sleek Construction

The smooth and sleek black textured wood grain vinyl exterior is supported by a solid, reinforced 3/4″ MDF with updated bracing. This robust construction helps to reduce vibration. Not only is the frame durable, even the vinyl exterior is also scratch-resistant. This can give the R-50C a long lease on life as part of your home theater sound system.
