4-way Floorstanding Loudspeaker

Chora 826-D is a loudspeaker equipped with a specific speaker driver that reproduces Dolby Atmos effects: for ultra-realistic 3D soundtracks and total immersion in the films you watch. Positioned on the top of the loudspeaker, this full-range speaker driver directs the sound towards the ceiling to reflect it back to the listener. Action scenes in the air, pouring rain or a rolling thunder are all brought to life. At the same time, its directional baffle allows you to locate the sounds effects as though you had loudspeakers in the ceiling! Imagine a scene in a house: you hear conversations, but also the noise of cutlery, of footsteps… all of these spatialized in three dimensions as though you were actually there!

Combining French manufacturing and design, this product also incorporates exclusive Focal technologies, particularly the Slatefiber cone of the midrange and bass speaker drivers or the Aluminium/Magnesium TNF tweeter for greater treble clarity.

Dolby Atmos Effect

Dolby Atmos is a technology developed specifically for audio products. Dolby Atmos®-equipped loudspeakers are “enabled speakers”: in addition to their speaker drivers in the front panel (horizontal channels), they incorporate a speaker driver on the top (vertical channel) which reflects the sound around the entire listening room. This technology also isolates each sound from the original soundtrack and mix, like an independent audio object, for the most detailed sound reproduction. With this technology, the emotion of cinema is transported into the heart of your lounge.

The TNF Tweeter

A Focal exclusive and made in France in our workshops from an Aluminium/Magnesium alloy, this tweeter offers many benefits, particularly in sound spatialization. With this tweeter, there is no shortage of sound harmony and precision.

The Slatefiber Cone

Also made in France in Focal’s workshops, it is characterized by a rich, dynamic and balanced sound, particularly in the midranges, as well as a stunning aesthetic thanks to its “slate” effect. It is the fruit of several years of R&D: the engineers have mixed ultra-lightweight recycled non-woven carbon fibers –a first in the world of audio– with a thermoplastic polymer. The combination of these materials offers excellent acoustic performance.

Chora Center Channel Speaker (Black)

Made in France in Focal’s workshops, the Chora Center speaker is equipped with an Aluminium/Magnesium tweeter and two Midrange/Bass speaker drivers featuring the Slatefiber cone. Thanks to these exclusive Focal technologies, it reproduces dialogues, voices and all other “front” film sound effects with exceptional clarity and levels of detail! A whisper, a hummed tune, a cry of joy or anger, or birdsong … you won’t miss a thing, and everything will spark your emotion. Available in three finishes, Chora Center can be installed on an optional dedicated stand, or positioned directly on your TV unit. A base supplied with the loudspeaker also guarantees an improved sound image for even better immersion. This loudspeaker perfectly completes a Home Cinema system, particularly in combination with the Dolby Atmos® Chora 826-D loudspeaker, but also any of the products from the Chora line.

Chora Surround is a compact loudspeaker that adds side and rear channels to your Home Cinema system for an even more immersive experience. The sound comes from all sides, accentuating the realism of scenes and heightening your sensations. Made in France in Focal’s workshops, Chora Surround uses the same Slatefiber technology seen in the Chora speaker drivers, ensuring high-quality sonic coherence with the other loudspeakers in the line. Indeed, devised and designed to complete your audio system, this product combines perfectly with the Chora 826-D Dolby Atmos loudspeaker and the Chora Center loudspeaker. And to increase the depth of sound, Focal engineers have also developed the Sub 600P subwoofer. The loudspeaker fixes quickly and easily to the wall thanks to the wall attachment supplied. And thanks to its black MDF finish, its magnetic grille and sleek design, it will be a seamless yet stunning addition that fits perfectly into your listening room.

Sub 1000 F High Power Subwoofer

Amplified Sealed, Compact Subwoofer

The Sub 1000 F subwoofer has been designed for Home Cinema use in the purest Focal tradition.

A technological masterpiece, it has a 11 13/16″ (30cm) diameter Flax membrane bass speaker cone. The stiffness and lightness of this environmentally-friendly textile mean it produces an extremely well defined, distortion-free sound. The ‘Dual Magnet’ dual driver provides phenomenal power while ensuring excellent linearity. The Sub 1000 F has an integrated 1,000 Watts BASH super-powerful amplifier to let the 30cm woofer unleash its full potential. Finally, its sealed construction offers an extended bass response, a very compact size and an absence of interference, all leading to a pure, harmonious sound.

The Definition of Bass Frequencies

The speaker cone in this subwoofer uses Flax Technology. Flax is an environmentally-friendly textile with astonishing structural properties that make it particularly suitable for sound production. It is light, stiff, and well damped. In general terms, flax membranes provide greater neutrality of timbre and better sound definition.

Evolved from the Flax cones developed for the Aria 900 speaker range, the cone membrane in the Sub 1000 F features a new, even more rigid construction. Two sheets of 160 g/m2 fibre glass and a 250 g/m2 flax core. It is able to withstand the high demands associated with subwoofers.

Dynamic, Controlled Bas

The Sub 1000 F subwoofer also features a coil/driver unit that is optimized to keep the coil temperature as low as possible. This means the speaker gives well articulated bass, better dynamics, and considerable SPL power (103.5 dB / 1 m @ 40Hz).

Focal’s Research & Development team developed a custom spider/suspension for the Sub 1000 F. Its dynamic behaviour is perfectly controlled, meaning that the bass is always controlled too, even with very long travel (up to 43 mm).
