The Cambridge Audio Edge W is far smoother and much more refined than my 851A (which is a good amp in its own right). Vocals are clearer and more realistic, and the lower bass is much better defined. It retains this refinement and control even when the volume is turned up and has no tendency to harden up.

Effortless power without distortion
Using standard Class A amplifier technology wasn’t going to be efficient enough for Edge W. Instead, they added a bias voltage to a traditional Class AB design, reducing distortion to inaudible levels. This unique configuration also produces less heat and makes the whole system much more effective.
