The Back Box BB-ISW-8 is designed for the B&W ISW-8 in-wall subwoofer. It eliminates wall shake and cabinet distortions that affect other designs. It also adjusts the cabinet volume for the drivers and minimizes acoustic leakage to other rooms. In drywall construction, the back box improves sound insulation to adjacent rooms. It also acts as a fire safety barrier that some building regulations require to stop any fire in the wall cavity from reaching the room. In solid construction, the backbox sets a suitable working volume for the speaker that may go beyond the wall frame.
