DOs and DON’Ts for Using the Amplifier

DOs:

  1. Turn Off Before Changing Cables: Always turn off the amplifier before changing the speaker cables.
  2. Switch Settings Carefully: Toggle Input (RCA or XLR), Gain, Source, HPF, and Ground Lift switches only when the amplifier is turned off.
  3. Prevent Spurious Signals: Ensure no spurious signals or oscillations are injected into the amplifier’s input from preamplifiers, streamers, or other devices.
  4. Use Quality Cables: Always use high-quality RCA and XLR cables. As this is a high-power amplifier, any inconsistency in signal levels will be amplified and could cause damage.
  5. Maintain Stable Input Levels: Ensure that the input signal level does not exceed the rated input sensitivity to avoid clipping, which may damage the speakers and amplifier.
  6. Stable Power Supply: Use the amplifier with a stable main connection between 215–253VAC. Operating the device outside this range may result in a malfunction.

DON’Ts:

  1. Avoid Low Impedance: Do not drive the amplifier below the rated impedance of 4 ohms.
  2. Consult Before Connecting Tube Preamps: Do not connect the amplifier to tube-based preamps without consulting the manufacturer.

Following these guidelines will ensure optimal performance and protect the amplifier and connected equipment from damage.
