Description
The Polk Audio RC60i In-Wall/In-Ceiling speakers practically have the in-wall speaker race in the bag. They are effectively the benchmark. Their low cost, swivel tweeter design, ease of installation, use in bathrooms or saunas, and large dispersion design make them the easy choice for in-wall/in-ceiling speakers. Dimensions
The RC60i comes in 6.5-inch and 8-inch versions, and its Infinite Baffle tuning uses the enclosure of the wall space to enhance its bass response. The hardest part of the setup is going to be cutting a round hole in your wall, but after you have figured that out, their rotating cams fix the speaker to the wall. Hook up speaker cabling to the RC60i and run it to your amplifier or home theatre receiver, and you are set.
Sweet Spot
The directional tweeter allows the speakers to be used in small to large rooms with a very wide ‘sweet spot’. That means everyone on the couch can perfectly hear the movie you are all watching. Users have reported using them in 28×20-foot rooms with no issues.
Bluetooth
The RC60i is voiced to match the RTi series from Polk, but if you are into mixing and matching, as many people are, the RC60i is reported to pair well with a variety of other speakers. With a frequency response down to 40Hz, one should pair these with a sub if you are looking for a super deep rumble of explosions or dinosaurs battling great apes.
Sound Quality
The warm sound, clear mid-range, solid highs, and resounding bass are reported to sound best with home theatre. For surround sound audio or stereo fronts, the RC60i is reported not to perform as well with staging and precision as a set of bookshelf or floor-stander speakers of moderate price.
